How did you first hear about CREW Portland?
I was familiar with CREW Boston when I moved to Portland, and sought out the local chapter.
What motivated you to join CREW Portland?
As a business owner, I’m motivated to join CREW to connect with fellow women in commercial real estate who are shaping our city. I’m excited to be part of the conversation on how we can uplift and support women in our industry, and I look forward to building relationships that drive positive change.
How did you get here?
When founding Thunder Egg, my vision was to create a team of seasoned professionals who are not only experts in their fields but also entrepreneurial in spirit. I set out to build an environment where creativity thrives, flexibility is valued, and each member can fully leverage their strengths. This approach has allowed us to consistently deliver outstanding results for our clients while redefining what a modern design firm can be. Since realizing this dream in 2022, I've been privileged to collaborate with remarkable clients and exceptional designers who share and amplify this vision.
Tell us something we didn't know about you?
Something you might not know is that I recently authored a book titled Inside the Design Industry. It offers an insider’s perspective on navigating the commercial architecture, interiors, and environmental branding world, with practical insights for aspiring designers. My goal with this book is to empower the next generation of industry professionals, much like CREW empowers women in real estate, by sharing the lessons and experiences that have shaped my career.
If you could describe yourself in three words what would they be?
Visionary: I’m always looking ahead, seeking out new ways to push the boundaries of design and redefine what’s possible in our industry. Collaborative: I believe the best results come from working together, fostering an environment where every team member’s voice and expertise contribute to the success of a project. Empowering: My passion lies in mentoring and uplifting others, whether it’s through my work at Thunder Egg or by sharing my knowledge in Inside the Design Industry.
Favorite Travel Destination?
This fall, my family and I will be traveling to Oaxaca, Mexico. I’m eager to immerse myself in the rich culture, stunning architecture, and vibrant culinary scene of the region. One of our senior designers spends part of the year working remotely from Oaxaca while developing a mezcal line to bring to the States. We’re excited to finally experience firsthand the beauty she has so vividly described over the years.
What is one goal you would like to achieve through CREW?
My goal in joining CREW is to connect with like-minded professionals who are passionate about shaping the future of real estate and design. I’m eager to exchange insights, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to the growth and success of other women in the industry. Through CREW, I hope to both expand my network and give back by sharing my experiences and expertise.
